Secession

I feel like people should be aware of this. Around 21 states wrote petitions to try and secede from the Union after finding out Obama won.

Or just google it, since it's all over google. I don't know, to me that's just fucking weird. Yeah, a lot of people didn't like him (a lot of people didn't like Romney either), but to want to secede seems like stupidity. I doubt a state will be better off within its own government; I think staying united is the best way to go, even if we are already fucked.

That's just my opinion though.

Definitely 2012~ I guess those states have they're own reasons for wanting to do such a thing. Not sure how it works, but is something like that decided on JUST the Government speaking for the people of it's state, or are the people themselves asking their Government to do this for they're state?

Once before, states had seceded from the union and that resulted in America's civil war. I think it is now written that it is illegal to secede, but the states write up a petition for the government to look at to consider becoming their own nation. Once a petition reaches 25,000 signatures, the government has to give a response. What that response is doesn't matter.I doubt any one state will be able to secede, but it's annoying to see that they are even thinking about it.

And it seems like they feel like this country is going down hill (which it is) but I don't think this is the way to handle it. If we seperate, I believe things will just be worse.

You have a point there, wouldn't it be better to stick together and take the problems on together? Let's hope they don't go ahead with it.

You won't need to worry about Florida leaving. As much as I hate this state, I'm not letting a bunch of butt-hurt Romney supporters divide this country.

And old news is old. THis all came to nothing because todays society has no power because they dont really BELIEVE in what theyr saying. theyr just butt hurt.
