First Anime

The first anime I actually have memories of was a show called "The Littl' Bits" (Basically like the Smurfs, only they're not blue, and more animu) It aired on Nickelodeon (or Nick Jr., I forget) 'round '94-'95 (so I was like five when I saw it 8D)

Other than that some of my firsts were Sailor Moon, DBZ, etc; though I vaguely remember glimpses of the original Dragon Ball too, before toonami aired DBZ.

I think Sailor Moon is what got me into the whole "woah these are from Japan!" thing (as did Pokemon) and Sailor Moon was the first Subbed thing I ever seen (maybe even one of the DBZ movies too, I forget which I saw first XD)

Love Hina was the first anime I ever bought/seen that wasn't being aired on American Television though. I was in middle School by the time I saw it so I've seen the anime they showed on Toonami as well XD (Tenchi Muyo is LOVE- and way better than Love Hina really xD)

i kinda watched here and there in 97...didnt mind it all that much it was just a way to kill time..but the first time i watched robotech AKA macross...i was HOOKED! nothing like when i was young running around my grandmas place with my grandfathers old rifle pretending to blow up zentradi...god those were the days. and yeah mizu me too. i actually first saw dragonball on Telemundo. the spanish channel XDD they had the one movie on and it looked funny as hell to me XD

Oh! I remember seeing DBZ on the Spanish Channel too! I remember watching it like "oh snap, so that's the original theme song!" ('cause they kept it) and I was also like "Dang what is that on Gohan's FACE?? It's all swollen..." 'cause they didn't censor those giant bumps Gohan got during his training with Piccolo xD (it was just more violent in general, and as a child, I effing loved violence...I still do! =u= )

*nod nod* violence...its why we all are anime fans am i right? 8D

pretty much, aside from the plots and art and such XD WOO! *high fives*

It's only type of anime I'll watch; the only non-violent I watched and was Ouran Host Club.

idk if this counts but ive read plenty of non violent manga? O_o

Me too. The animation was so crazy and random it really made the show great. My favorite episode was the halloween one, along with some others. ^^

That's alright, I'm sure we are all guilty of that. I watched Strawberry Panic before and that's about all I can remember.

Hmm...I've read a few non-violent manga, If I've watched any non-violent animes I can't name em off the top of my head

Though a Shoujo I really liked (but still had some action in it) is called Alice 19th! (iirc) it's really good!

@Wave: ....isn't Strawberry Panic that show that got its name because a girl wears panties with strawberries on them? XD

I only watched like four episodes. If that's how the show got its name I would rather not know. I rarely watch shoujo-ai because they always are littered with fan service, which I hate. -_-

Lol; I dunno if that's how it got its name, 'cause there's lots of anime with the title Strawberry in it XD But now that you mention it's a shoujo ai, I remember more about it! I never seen it but a friend of mine did....she said it was hot but funny XDDD (I'm more of a shounen ai fan myself, but yeah, too much fan service can be a bad thing...ugh...I remember I watched Angel's Feather...I was just like..."Wtf, you guys are trying too hard!"

its a good story alltogether...you never realy know WHAT the hell is gunna happen next...i enjoyed it ^_^

Ahhh~ Where to start? I think it was either Pokemon or Sailor Moon :3 I never understood Sailor Moon at the time, but my brother and sister used to watch it, so I watched it for the sake of watching it I guess, but as for Pokemon, THAT'S was where it was at in the 90's <3

After that, I think I turned into a DBZ-holic too XD And all of a sudden stopped Anime completely until 2007 (so 4-5 years away from it I think), and that's when my lovely Bleach came into my life =D And now~ ...Well, Anime's everything to me lol.

Ai Yori Aushi and definitely Clannad. Two of my favorite non violent animes.

Oh~~~ Clannad~ You just reminded me of AIR <3 And non violent-wise, it would have to be Onegai Teacher <3 :3

I love Onegai Teacher. Please twins as well. I though about picking that one up the next time I go to Sakura-Con.

Ai Yori Aoshi is another I love. Of course, I like the ending for the manga better than the anime. I goes a little farther with the story.
