Yes indeed. Just ended my fourth semester (well, the final is on Wednesday but it's all good xp) Both me and my bf have.

Katakana and Hiragana are fairly easy for me now xp
It's the Kanji and remembering some of the vocabulary that's hard =>.<= We've learned about 350 Kanji.. I probably can read all the ones we've learned, but writing....I can probably only write about half, maybe less than that. And I think it's 2000 Kanji that are commonly used.
