Alastor IN-DEPTH

In the world there is a secret organization called D.E.I.T.I.E.S. which looks over the power balances of the world. Founded and led by Edmund Lion, Codename: Zeus, and his trusted wife, Helena Lion, Codename: Hera, the organization thrives for years. However, Edmund's elite team, The Hound's Fang, led by Adrien Wolfe, Codename: Ares, and his teammates Nathalia Whalter, Codename: Artemis, and Alexander Roarshark, Codename: Tartarus, go rogue and deviate from the organization's peaceful intent. After much a long struggle, the team goes missing and all members are assumed dead. Years later, Edmund's new star team, The Blades of Alastor, led by James Phoenix, Codename: Alastor, and his companions Lucille Swan, Codename: Aphrodite, and Leroy Griffin, Codename: Dionysus, discover a plot hatched by a mysterious adversary. However, Edmund recognizes the patterns of the plot to be one concocted by his once glorious team, The Hound's Fang. And so, The Blades of Alastor embark on an epic chase around the world to find out and end the plot of the mastermind.

Plot:

Alexander Roarshark and Adrien Wolfe, brothers, work secretly on a cure for a deadly new strand of cancer, a strand that their parents contract, a strand that threatens them with death. They work tirelessly, but when they test their cure on a guinea pig, the animal dies within an instant. Blown away and devastated by the complete farce, Alex goes hopeless, having just sucked away billions of dollars of funding from D.E.I.T.I.E.S. Adrien, however, proposes a new route; he convinces Alex to use this new weapon as a threat to anyone they can so that they can get the money and the help to develop a new cure. Nathalia Whalter, the last member of their team, The Hound's Fang, unquestioningly follows the two, since she is in love with Alex. Edmund notices the team's activity and begins to hunt them down. Nathalia and Alex at this point become confused; they haven't killed anyone, so there should not have been anything tipping off the HQ. However, it is revealed that Adrien has secretly done much more work than he led the other two to believe; he has been torturing and killing many people in order to fulfill his goals. Nathalia leaves Alex, thinking him to be in conspiracy with Adrien. Alex confronts Adrien and end up splitting, each taking half of their research with them. The entire Hound's Fang goes completely missing and never show up within the next eight years. After those eight years, Edmund sends his star team, The Blades of Alastor, on a mission, of which they find a skilled mercenary and a cleverly constructed trap to retrieve more research. Edmund realizes that this plot may be Alex or Adrien up at his old games once again, but he wonders why he waited until eight years later to step up his game. None the less, The Blades of Alastor are sent to find Nathalia, as she has hidden information on her old teammates.

Characters:

James Phoenix, Codename: Alastor (Age 34) - James joins D.E.I.T.I.E.S. under the name of Alastor, the god of revenge, after hearing a story his late wife tells him about Alastor. His main intent is to exact revenge on anyone the organization will point him at, sating his desire to avenge a dark past. He has been in D.E.I.T.I.E.S. longer than his other team members, which effectively makes him the leader. He is extremely astute, making deductions much like Sherlock Holmes would, and is very passionate and defensive of his team, especially the love interest, Lucille. However, negative sparks go off between the two often when they discuss the organization's true meaning in the world, being a secret organization and all.

Alexander Roarshark, Codename: Tartarus (Age 38) - Alex leads The Hound's Fang all the way until its disbandment. He appears much later and confronts James' team often throughout the plot. He lives with the guilt of not being able to make amends to his love interest, Nathalia. He chooses to do everything on his own after disappearing, and stay as secretive as possible. He is presented as the antagonist, seeing as though Adrien is presumed dead.

Nathalia Whalter, Codename: Artemis (Age 34) - Nathalia follows Alex in his endeavors to find a cure to the cancer his parents contract. She loses, however, all faith in Alex as soon as she finds out data and records Adrien keeps in his own personal archives. She goes into hiding when the team splits up, and reluctantly helps James when his team finds her. As far as she knows, Adrien is dead.

Adrien Wolfe, Codename: Ares (Age 37) - Adrien is relentless and stops at nothing to achieve his goals. He has no problem torturing or killing anyone he needs to to get the information and the help that he needs. He grows insane and in love with the creation he and Alex accidentally create. When he analyzes this weapon, he finds that it is a kind of nerve agent, like the compound VX, but far more powerful. When the team splits up, he takes half of the research with him, but is never found after. Because of which, D.E.I.T.I.E.S. announces him dead.

Lucille Swan, Codename: Aphrodite (Age 31) - Lucille is the love interest to James in the story and is very individual and hard-headed. She fights with her own teammate, James, often in private over their ideals regarding their part in the organization. She believes she's doing the right thing, and that she doesn't need any recognition, after all, it's a secret organization. Hearing James rant on and on about the justice he wants, and the credit he deserves thereof greatly troubles Lucille and even creates a distance between the two.

Leroy Griffin, Codename: Dionysus (Age 33) - Leroy is the comic relief of the story, often cracking jokes at the most inappropriate times. He is still, however, a trusted teammate of James' and knows when to be serious.

Jasmine Owlings, Codename: Athena (Age 43) - Jasmine is part of Edmund's personal team, The Lion's Mantle. She is in charge of recruiting new members, training them, and assigning them to teams. On occasion, she accompanies other teams on dire missions so as to heighten the possibility of success. She criticizes James often for his leap first, then look attitude, but secretly admires him for his courage and passion. She's the first to insinuate that Alex has returned.

Edmund Lion, Codename: Zeus (Age 49) - As his codename implies, Edmund is the leader of the entire organization. He is in charge of keeping every member of D.E.I.T.I.E.S. in check and making sure morale, success, and peace is kept up. He isn't too willing to accept that Alex has returned.

Helena Lion, Codename: Hera (Age 47) - Edmund's trusted right-hand and loyal wife. She isn't as harsh or as brazen as her husband, but still has a set line for patience and morality. She is completely against the idea that Alex has returned.

William Hawk, Codename: Icarus (Age 29) - The foil character for James, he is assigned to James' team and soon places James as his mentor. He soon develops an infatuation with another recruit, Caitlin Gazelle. William is cocky and ostentatious, often to the point of irritating James, but he learns to know his limits and become mature.

Caitlin Gazelle, Codename: Calypso (Age 28) - The second recruit taking her place in The Blades of Alastor. She creates a competition and rivalry between herself and William, making the two a fiery match; they're often caught trying to best each other in every single way possible. William begins to have feelings for Caitlin, but is ultimately put to the test when Caitlin defects to the enemy's side.

Nelson Phoenix (Age 58) - Not much is told about James' father, other than the fact that he has contracted the same cancer that Alex's and Adrien's parents contracts. James fights to rid the thought of a perishing father from his mind.

Chloe Phoenix (Age 56) - Not much is told about James' mother, other than the fact that she too has contracted the same cancer as Alex's and Adrien's parents do. James fights to rid the thought of a perishing mother from his mind.

Raquel Phoenix (Age 33) - Not much is told about James' late wife, other than the fact that she was mysteriously killed before her time, killed in a death that the doctors were baffled of; her muscle cells contracted all at once, and constricted harder and harder until her entire body was torn to shreds anatomically speaking. James fights his hardest to rid the thought of a murdered wife from his mind. He keeps the story of Alastor in his mind and close to his heart, and even on his dog-tag, where his codename is placed.

Jacqueline Viper, Codename: Medusa (Age 35) - Jacqueline has defected to the enemy's side. This secretly troubles James as Jacqueline is an early love interest of James' in time's past. James must face his demons and confront Jacqueline at any cost. His first chance appears when D.E.I.T.I.E.S. captures her for interrogation and he is put on the spot for the role of interrogator.

Story Structure:

The story is linear, but often referring to flash-backs regarding the old team, The Hound's Fang and their struggles. Other flash-backs involve James' and Jacqueline's old infatuations for each other. Two main stories evolve as time goes on: James' story, and William's story. James goes on in his struggles with his love interest, Lucille, while trying to deal with the missions underway. William struggles as well, first as a recruit and student under James, and as a young man, living his life with his infatuation for Caitlin. As time goes on, every person's codename origin is revealed and the characters are understood more in terms of their motivations and goals regarding D.E.I.T.I.E.S. and the world. D.E.I.T.I.E.S. stands for Destined Entities' Intelligence Treaty In Earth's Services; their main goal is to maintain the various power balances of the world.

Haha.. thanks, Yuki. I'm glad it's so interesting. Of course, there are a few plot twists I have chosen to be completely secretive about.

Yeah, howevverrr.. I have ninja-ly sneaked in a couple of the twists in what I have given here as SUBTLY as possible.. bwahahaha.. However, the biggest twist of the story is no where in sight here.

Haha.. yeah, that's probably the most minor twist of the whole story, one the reader kinda starts off assuming already.

Well, I've written like the first 15 pages of Alastor, but I don't really want to touch back to that until much later. I'm going to be globe-trotting (like James Bond) so I have to do a lot of research in regards to various and specific places all around the world, along with real events. I plan to stage a scene at the christening of the epic cruise ship, Oasis of the Seas. (look up if you're interested, it disembarked around the year that my story takes place, so I thought it'd work out)

I know, this is going to be one of my big ones, I think. The main way I write my stories and stuff is to visualize it as if it were a movie. And with this it is verrrry easy to do so. Haha.

Yeah.. so far I know I'm going to that cruise ship, Paris, California, and Chicago, at least.

Oh, shit, there's no way I'm that motivated so as to ACTUALLY go to those places. XD I'm just gonna research. AND, I'll use info on places I actually have gone to before. There's one in Mexico I've been to twice which I will stage a dramatic scene at, taking advantage of the magnificent architecture of a specific building.

Haha.. yeah, I would love to take you to all those places. It'd be a lot better than just going by my lonesome. >.> But yeah. Good thing we live in the era of information, otherwise I'd really have to go to those places.
